Unfortunately, we can’t say the same for cable railings. Cables lose tension, sag and break over time. On the other hand, our Wedge Lock 3000 has rods that will never droop or sag. Even several years after your installation, they’ll look exactly as they did when they were new. Floating corners enhance the view rather than obscuring it with cables (just look at the picture on the right). In addition – why would you buy a railing system which exposes its fasteners screws. That’s simply unattractive. The WL3000 has no visible fasteners or obtrusive screws on the end posts. And, for clients who need something a bit different – perhaps a guard rail with glass, or a handrail – we can do that too. One thing we love to mention is that our system does NOT require any onsite welding. Simple hand tools is all you need for installation, so it’s perfect for the handy do-it-yourselfer or carpenter. We understand the value of sustainability. It’s the right way to do things. That’s why the Wedgelock 3000 system has environmental advantages over typical railing systems. Our railing posts and caps come standard in aluminum, which is highly recycled/recyclable. Though the recycled content is constantly changing by the specific alloy of our extrusions we order, we typically are running about 25% recycled content in aluminum. Because we use aluminum which is much lighter than steel, but still meets all railing codes, there is less environmental impact in shipping. And, after the very long and useful life span of our products, they are 100% recyclable. The stainless rods and components we us all come from suppliers who are a part of the Specialty Steel Industry of North America Association (SSINA).
