Glass Lock 3000

Our Glass Lock 3000 has been engineered to meet California’s strict building code, which means it will meet code just about anywhere in the US. In some states, a cap rail will be required. This glass railing system is offered with either powder coated aluminum posts and cap rail or brushed stainless steel posts. It can have either 3/8″ or 1/2″ glass, polycarbonate sheets, or other infill. This railing system is very easy to install and can be installed on existing or new decks.

A combination of Glass Lock and base shoe glass railings were used in this home. The Glass Lock allowed for floating stairs, while the base shoe is set into the floor for guardrails on the bridge and top of the stairwell. The assembly was tied together by aluminum cap rails that flow seamlessly from one railing to the next.

Oakland Hills View

Black powder coated posts complement the wood cap rail which matches the decking. The same railing is used inside the house as a guardrail for the loft. For the open stairwell, the homeowners chose the base shoe to complement the Glass Lock railings elsewhere.

Integrated Railing Bench

This glass railing incorporated a built-in wooden bench that acted as part of the railing. Glass wound around the edge of the deck and up two steps, with a wood caprail that matched the bench and decking. The Glass Lock posts and bench supports were powder coated in a black finish.

Diablo Valley

This project featured a powder coat that resembles a clear anodized finish. This railing has 3/8” clear tempered glass and is side mounted with bolt covers to conceal hardware.

Silicon Valley Deck and Pool

This project featured bronze anodized aluminum posts and cap rail/handrail with 3/8″ clear tempered glass. The mounting was all poured in place (core drilled) with laser cut cover plates to conceal the hole.

Alameda Roof Deck

This project in the East Bay Area featured bronze anodized aluminum posts and cap rail with 3/8″ clear tempered glass. The mounting was side-mounted and then the deck tiled to the outside edge of the post to a gutter to allow for water runoff. This was an affordable solution to a common problem.

San Francisco Interior Stair Railing

This project featured brushed stainless steel posts, a mahogany wood cap rail stained to match the flooring, and 3/8″ tempered Optiwhite glass. The mounting is a combination of side-mounted and top-mounted with the wood flooring concealing the base plates.

This railing features clear anodized aluminum posts and glass infill panels. Note the single post condition on the decks, as well as the cantilevered glass corners. Also note how the glass seams hide behind the posts giving the illusion of continuous glass.

Sutro Tower View

Santa Cruz

This project on the Pacific Ocean in Santa Cruz featured anodized aluminum posts with no cap rail and 1/2″ Starphire tempered glass. Though the railing appears to be top-mounted it actually side-mounted on the inside of the rim joist. The railing features bolt covers to conceal hardware.

Specialty Pyramid Posts

This railing features clear anodized aluminum posts with 3/8″ clear tempered glass with floating corners and no cap rail. Note these posts are made from solid 6063 alloy aluminum and CNC machined into the pyramid shape.

Silicon Valley Interior

This project in the Silicon Valley featured a powder coated finish that resembles a dark bronze anodized finish. This railing posts were mounted and the base plates concealed with a curb cap. The handrail brackets are powder coated and the wood handrail matches the wood on the floor. Note the glass corner detailing.

Railing, Handrails, and Windscreen

This project exhibits a variety of applications for Glass Lock 3000, including railing, handrails, and a windscreen. Note the double post and decorative panels above the glass, the cantilevered corners, and the use of opaque glass for the windscreen. This railing features dark bronze anodized aluminum posts and cap rail and glass infill panels.
